SS069 Shepherd & The Shrink Experiencing Christ in Christmas
When Christmas comes around, we’re all looking for something. In this episode, I (the Shepherd) talk about how striving to experience Christ in Christmas is the answer we’re seeking.
Today, I talk about what it means to experience Christ in Christmas, noting that He appears in different ways. I discuss the meaning of Christmas, especially in the context of our recent Identity Crisis Series, and I name the lie that has been around since Christ’s time: that those who are being served the most are the most important. I discuss the different Gospel accounts of the nativity story, and I explain what it means to empty oneself. I note that Christmas is about God’s journey of downward mobility in emptying Himself for us, and I explain why, as His disciples, it’s now our turn to empty ourselves for Him.
“Self-emptying is the key to God’s entrance in the Christmas story.”
