SS042 Shepherd & The Shrink What Does it Mean to Walk in the Spirit?

We often hear the expression, “Walk in the Spirit,” but it can be hard to know what this means practically. Today, we go into the expression, talking about what it means and why it’s important.

In this episode, we dispel the notion that you can avoid all paths and explain why, since you have to choose a path, the path of the Spirit is the best one you can choose. We offer the beginnings of an explanation of the Trinity, and we note human beings’ reluctance to make choices. We discuss why CS Lewis says that the best way forward is backward when you find yourself walking down the wrong path. We note the importance of looking at the fruits of your choices, and we talk about the value of serving others. We talk about what it means for God to be merciful and loving, and we offer a few practical tips for walking in the Spirit. Finally, we discuss the significance of the word “walk” and share its implications.

“God is working with us, but not in us until we allow it.”

- Dr. Matt Hook

“Nothing connects you like serving other people.”

- Dr. Martin Fletcher
