SS059 Shepherd & The Shrink The Meaning of Work
Mark Sutter is a Christ-follower, a friend, and the recently retired CEO of Terumo Corporation, one of the largest medical device companies in the world. Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Terumo is a half-a-billion dollar company that has thousands of employees around the world. Mark ran the company for seventeen years until his retirement.
Today, Mark joins us to share the story of how he found Christ and took Him into the rest of his life. He shares the story of his conversion experience, and we note the gradualness of spiritual development. We talk about the different types of grace and we discuss the difference between knowing about God and knowing Him personally. We discuss the meaning of “shalom” and note that a spiritual experience is like nothing else. We talk about the relationship between spirituality and work, and Mark shares how he brought Christ into his work life and the effects this had. He shares his four-point approach to leadership and he explains why it’s not cutthroat to make a profit in business.
“I believe that God gave us a heart to love Him and to love each other, and from that we experience joy.”
