SS054 Shepherd & The Shrink Bible Study: The First Miracle

With everything that’s going on in the world today, it’s easy to get caught up in the big news stories, but the fact is, there are many immediate problems that we are much more capable of solving. In today’s episode, we explore where it’s possible to see this lesson and many others in the story of the Wedding at Cana.

Today, we talk about the power of Holy Scripture and explore the passage recounting Jesus’s first miracle. We discuss the timelessness of Holy Scripture and talk about the need to “do whatever He tells you.” We note that knowing God and seeing His miracles requires personal and firsthand obedience, and we talk about why it’s helpful to study Scripture together with others. We talk about the dangers of sloth and narcissism and discuss the power of the practical stuff. We also talk about why living according to Scripture is mentally healthy.

“If you want to experience God, if want to be in on stuff, if you want to be in the know, the only ones who knew what had happened, who had seen how God worked, who had some sense that Jesus is more than we could ever know, were the servants.”
